Inspired by Marshall McLuhan's "The Medium is the Massage," I created a book cover for a book that would have been hypothetically created today. I entitled it, "The World As We Knew It," which is a chime at the 80's classic by R.E.M.

I looked to issues facing global warming, massive population growth, and deforestation to help form this concept. 

I cut the the typography out of the outermost cover to reveal an enchanted photo of the sun printed on photo-luster paper to give it an added shine. I drive the concept more by physically burning the paper on the innermost flaps of the cover.
